At Dohertys Creek P-9 College, students create visual artworks that communicate their ideas, observations and understandings of their world, and other worlds. Visual Arts at Dohertys Creek P-9 College engages learners on a journey of discovery through experimentation, visual language, techniques, technologies and processes. Pupils explore, trial and implement a range of media, materials and art forms, including painting, drawing, collage and sculpture. Students learn about art history, theories and the role of artists and designers in society. They explore and respond to the work of artists from different times and cultures, as well as make critical judgements about their work and the work of their peers.
